As a career coach, I am often asked whether a person should stay in a job even if they do not like it. The answer is, frankly, a question – “what is your level of dislike?”
All life situations are on a spectrum from “Hate it-to-Love it.” I’d also prefer to see you run towards something, rather than away from something.
Go after something you’d enjoy, rather than escaping from a bad situation. In the latter case, you’re likely to carry that drudgery of dislike with you into interviews, rather than the excitement of a new challenge and growth opportunity.
